Website Design & Hosting
We specialise in websites for the smaller business and charity. We believe that by specialising in the smaller business, sole trader and small charity sector of the internet we are able to provide the service that you need at a price you can afford.
Although Forest Software Ltd was founded by John K Mitchell in 1983 as an M software consultancy, we built our first web site in 1995 and since then have built and hosted sites for many clients.
Our consultancy clients have included banks, insurance companies, financial management companies (Quasar users), health authorities, software houses, timber wholesalers and tour operators. We have also carried out DSM based training for clients.
Our web site design clients have included engineering firms, electronic supply companies, finance companies, letting agencies, telecommunication service providers, wedding car companies, cleaning companies, printers, professional groups, real estate companies and several other types of organisations including business and charitable groups.
We also host web sites for several companies and groups that have developed their own sites, or have used an external designer for the site as well as building sites that the client then takes over the maintenance of.
Unlike many SEO firms out there, we promise that we will only take on working for you if we realy believe that we can make a difference to your bottom line- not just a difference in your search engine rankings, but an increase in enquiries or sale to you. We do this by not only looking at the technical elements of search engine optimisation but may also make suggestions about how to make your pages more user friendly. If we don't feel that we can make a real difference to you we may make a few suggestions to you about some basic improvements to your site.
If you feel we can help you or have any questions, please contact us for a no obligation quote.
Although we were originally based in Peterborough, England we have recently moved to Maenan, near Llanrwst in North Wales but we have still clients from many parts of the UK and in the past have even worked for clients from Europe, the USA and Africa.
BT Payment Collection Scam
This was been sent out by Cambridgeshire Police at the end of July 2009
Norfolk Police have been made aware of a BT collection service scam which is believed to be a National fraud. A professional sounding adult male phones the victim (victims chosen are listed in the phone directory) stating he is calling from BT Collection Service because money is owed to BT.
The caller states that the (victims) bank has stopped the Direct Debit and that money is immediately owed else the phone will be cut off.
The amount that is allegedly ‘owed’ has been less than £10 (typically £9 ).
The caller requires the victims credit card details so that payment can be made. The caller also ‘proves’ he can easily cut off the victims phone telling them to hang up and try dialling out.
It is then believed he puts them on ‘hold’ so that the line is still connected but of course the victim believes their line has been disconnected.
The offender then ‘phones them back and again attempts to obtain their credit card detail.
The main object is not the £9 but is to obtain the credit card data.
The caller is described as very professional sounding.
Please be vigiliant and never give your card details over the phone - please contact the Police if any calls of this nature occur .
