This is a much shorter blog post than our normal ones.
About two weeks ago, our webserver came under an attack that meant that both our blog and accountants directory got corrupted (the server was struggling and the software decided to automatically update itself, which was fine, but the associated database update went pear-shaped).
Having spent a good amount of time trying to recover the software and database from backups we decided to redesign the relevent parts of our site as the quickest way to get everything working again. Yes, we take daily backups and these are held off-server in a couple of secure locations, but I was unwell for a week so didn’t notice the lack of the blog, and now realise that having daily backups that are only kept for 7 days isn’t really enough for situations like this.
Of course, the redesign and recovery was not the easy, smooth process that we hoped for, but was, as we expected a lengthly process that we are still working our way though.
So, for now dear reader, we hope that you like the new look our our blog and directory and will excuse anything that doesn’t work for the next few days until we are fully up and running.
