Online Accounting
Many firms of accountants in the UK are "online" in that they have a website but this page aims to list some of those that provide online accounting and bookkeeping services to small and medium businesses here in the UK. Please note that we haven't have used any of these accountancy firms, the list has been put together to help our visitors find an accountant that can provide an online bookkeeping service to them no matter where they are in the UK.
The idea of online, outsourced, bookeeping has been made much easier over the past few years with the introduction of cloud storage using services such as Dropbox which give you disk space on the internet that you can share with friends, collegues or business partners - for example our Dropbox account currently gives us 2.5Gb of storage that we can use to send files to people we know simply by uploading the file and then sharing either the file or a complete folder. Accountants are taking advantage of this idea to have their clients scan invoices and receipts into a dropbox area so that they can pick up the scanned images and add the details to the clients accounting records, saving the client from having to do their own bookkeeping (and therefore saving time and money while increasing the accuracy of the final accounts).
